gunite | raised spa | sun shelf
To accommodate their family and guests, our client desired an elegant entrance from the street to their front door. Additionally, our client expressed interest in a large pool space for relaxing and entertaining.
In the front yard, our designers were challenged to create a stately walkway that would connect the street, driveway, and front porch together. The client, whose yard already had a relatively steep slope, did not want to ramp the walkway up to the house. As a result, our company constructed a terraced landscape and complemented the design with Unilock pavers and retaining walls as well as cultured stone masonry columns.
In the back yard, our client's gunite pool became central to the patio design. The pool features a 20" raised spa with spillover fountains and a shallow sun shelf. Lined with a mixed mosaic of natural stone and colorful glass tile, the pool gleams distinctively in sunlight. On either side of the pool are secondary areas for gathering. On one side, a custom shaded built-in grill and bar. On the other, a sunken fire pit area with a built-in Unilock seat wall. The pool area is accessible from both the basement and main level of the house. Our company designed and built the retaining wall and landscape drainage necessary to accomodate the client's new walkout basement door.
