The Helipool
Waterford, MI
gunite | infinity edge | fire features
Our clients requested a backyard landscape renovation that would provide them with their own private resort. Their top priorities were to build a pool with an attached spa, an intimate space for relaxing and entertaining, and a separate activity space for spending time outdoors together.
Our design adopted these requests by providing a large fire table for dining, a sunken fireplace area with adequate seating space, and an open pool area that uses the dramatic slope of the yard to its advantage. This pool is a negative edge pool, often called an infinity pool. Two sides of the pool do not have coping, allowing guests to have an almost seamless view of water between the pool and the lake beyond. Water from the pool is caught in a trough closer to ground level, creating a beautiful cascading effect over the natural texture of the cultured stone wall face.
